Why Choose a Physical Therapist for your Bike Fit?

A Physical Therapist is a trained expert in Human Kinetics, the study of human movement, and Ergonomics, the interaction of a person and their machine. The machine in this case is your bike.

Your customized exam will include:

    • Analysis of your position on the bike with corrective changes made to accommodate your individual needs.

Specific measurements and position analysis will look at the following areas.

      • Cleat Position and Pedal Interface
      • Reach to handlebar
      •  Dynamic and Static Posture assessment of Neck, Low Back, Knees and Foot while on bike.

Isolated assessments without the full exam are also available for the following:

        • Seat Height/Position
        • Cleat installation and adjustment
        • Evaluation only without Bike Fit

Some common syndromes and pain locations that will be considered are:

Evaluations and Bike Fits: Performed with the needs of cyclists in mind.

Imbalances in muscles length and improperly aligned joints can lead to pain. Proper bike fit affects comfort, power, and endurance over a ride. We will perform a comprehensive evaluation by a physical therapist knowledgeable of the position and demands of cycling and along with an assessment of your position on the bike.

We can work together with your bike shop on recommendations.
