Dr. Tim Kauffman's distinguished physical therapy career spans close to four decades and includes work in U.S. Army and Reserve Unit hospitals, nursing homes, home care, research, lecturing, and private practice. He is an adjunct professor at Columbia University and serves and a clinical professor for many Eastern physical therapy schools. He is also an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) in the Geriatric, Oncology and Sports Medicine sections. He has served on the Geriatric Section's Board of Directors, Research Committee, and the Editorial Board for Journal of Geriatric Physical Therapy. He has lectured throughout the U.S. and internationally on geriatric physical therapy care and his research has been published in a variety of journals. He is co-author and editor of the first and second editions of the Geriatric Rehabilitation Manual, an internationally acclaimed practical manual that provides step-by-step guidance on the treatment and evaluation of geriatric diseases and disorders. It was an immense undertaking, representing contributors from nine countries and 18 different academic/professional degrees. Tim has served the Lancaster Arthritis Foundation, Multiple Sclerosis Society, American Red Cross Board and Health Volunteers overseas. He is active as a rugby referee and soccer player, mountain climber, scuba diver and cyclist. He and his wife Brenda reside in Lancaster. His son Ben and daughter Emily have grown and moved out on their own; they continue to be a source of joy and pride.
